Sephek Fight

• #ColdHeartedKiller Fought Sephek Kaltro. He gave up. Told players he did it as a favor for Ravisin the Frost Druid. “She rescued me when when my ship sank”. Lives near Lonelywood. Sister to Vernice.
• #ColdHeartedKiller Players knocked Sephek out and brought him back to the tavern. Paid off Scramsaxx to not alert the guards. Hlin Trollbane has a discussion with Sephek Kaltro where he tried to lie his way out. She would not believe anything he says.
• #ColdHeartedKiller Hlin Trollbane takes Sephek Kaltro back to her room. Lets party know there is a scrimshander in the town of Lonelywood who knows a thing or two about daggers. Tell them Hiln sent you if you go. Hlin Trollbane may have killed Sephek Kaltro back in her room.

Snakes at Dawn

• After a long rest of intense dreams the travelers wake in the dark. Looking out the window they see a flying snake carrying a letter from the north to the center of town. Merken tried to charm it in friendship, but failed. Bardley took off sprinting to follow the snake….but failed. Could tell it went to City Hall. Team goes to Duvessa Shane to see about the snake.
• Players talked to Eddie Southwell(Sherriff’s son) at the front desk. He claims to not know about the snake. They go to talk to Duvessa Shane. She has not seen a snake, but note she and Eddie are the only people there right now. She also notes that flying snakes are often messangers used by Naerth Maxildannar. She shares her concern about the events of the night before and other towns rising up. Targos in particular. Naerth Maxildannar is a big concern. He is the opposite seat of political power on the council. Players asked her about Ravisin and Vernice. Duvessa Shane has not met Ravisin. She notes the townpeople talk about them as if they have magical powers. They control magical beings. Angry at the world. Players wondered about her concern of Targos, what they might do. She thinks they could declare war or Council of Speakers to censor her. Trying to win over other towns. Naerth Maxildannar often gets votes from Dougan's Hole and Good Mead. She thinks he is Zhentarim.
• Players notice three things at the same time: 1. Small piece of wood propping the door open. 2. Eddie Southwell is glancing at them frequently. 3. There is a letter with a wax seal on his desk. Seal has not been broken. Using a ‘wet willy’ in Orion’s ear to distract Eddie Southwell, Merken swipes the letter from Eddie’s desk: Merken and Bardley read the letter: “Rumor that sacrifice did not happen last night. Confirm ASAP. – N”.
• Players confront Eddie Southwell. He denies it. Bring him in front of Duvessa Shane. Eddie tried to talk his way out of it. He was not successful in convincing Duvessa. She interrogated him. He gave her an ultimatum. She decides not to place team under arrest. Duvessa put him under house arrest. If he leaves town he is a fugitive. He walks away. She notes that he has already been under suspicion for the lottery. The letter is not enough to incriminate him. Need to find more. Drag him in front of the council.
• Players see Eddie Southwell leaving town and tell Duvessa Shane. She thinks he is going to Targos. While they are talking to her, simultaneously, Merken disappears on an errand.
• Players talk to Garn the Hammer before leaving town. He has a couple of things he wants help with. Oobok’s body to be reclaimed.
  In addition to proper dwarven death rites requiring the body, Oobok wore a charm they want back. Team for reclamation are meeting in Targos. Does not know much about Ravisin. However, has heard there is a larger goblin problem. The weapons has been selling them are more than bad. Elza the Hammer notes she can mostly imbue items with curses. Team suspect that may be what they are selling to goblins. Garn has heard rumors that the Duergar may be coming up from the caves. Can turn invisible and very large. Team leaves for Targos.

A Warm Welcome

• When they enter town a large dog tackles Merken. Refers to dog as Dexter and scratches it between the ears.
